Twin Souls and Soul Mates

The topic of twin souls and soul mates is one that many different religions touch on. When I went to a Christian meeting about this topic, they pointed out that we only live ONE life, and in that ONE life we find everything that we ever desired, we even find the one person that we were always meant to be with. And if we didn't find them on this plane, then they would be given to us in Heaven. And they specifically said that there is only ONE soul like ours in the whole universe, because God wanted each of us to be special and important in some way. When I heard that, I did not believe it at all.

I mean, seriously, you only get ONE chance to find the person you were always meant to be with, ONE chance to find what your life goal was and complete it, ONE chance to find what makes you special. And if you don't find any of those things, you'll find out in Heaven? Why would we find out what it was we need to find out in a place that would have no use of our special qualities, in a place where we don't need to use them because it's Heaven?

The thing you'll find out about me is I don't like the whole "You only get one chance to do this right, and you will have no help whatsoever, no instructions, no way of telling you that it is right." No, that's not right. I believe that the soul learns in each life that it is born and it quickly adapts, telling you what it is that you really want, what it is that you really deserve.

Since I don't really have that much knowledge on Soul Mates and Twin Souls, I pulled an article up, and I'm just going to include information that is knowledgeable for all of you and me. I also would like to point out that any information on this blog/post can be put in your Book Of Shadows. In fact, I would expect it of you, because one day this blog won't be running anymore, it might even be deleted, so you need to get as much information down as easily as possible. Yes, that is my job, but it's your job to stay informed and to inform the next generations, because they don't know what they are doing either. That said, let's do some reading.

Soul Mates, Twin Souls & Karmic Relationships

Author: Springwolf
Making Sense Of Spiritual Relationships
All of our relationships are spiritual in nature. From metaphysical theory, we make agreements with others while in spirit to share time and space together here on the physical plane once we’ve incarnated. We also make agreements with other spirits to help guide us through our incarnated path to learn lessons, share guidance and pay or redeem karma or both.
Each of these agreements are designed for one main purpose, to help our spirit learn, grow and work toward enlightenment. But that doesn’t mean that each of these agreements are the same.
There are a multitude of theories, myths and thoughts about how our spiritual connections are made. How they were initially created and what impact they have on both our spirit and our soul. As well as, what impact they have in our physical life.

Wikipedia states this about “soul mates”:
In his dialogue “The Symposium”, Plato has Aristophanes present a story about soul mates. Aristophanes states that humans originally had four arms, four legs, and a single head made of two faces, but Zeus feared their power and split them all in half, condemning them to spend their lives searching for the other half to complete them.
According to Theosophy
(
the system of belief and practice of the Theosophical Society),
God created androgynous souls—equally male and female. Later theories postulate that the souls split into separate genders, perhaps because they incurred karma while playing around on the Earth, or “separation from God.” Over a number of reincarnations, each half seeks the other. When all karmic debt is purged, the two will fuse back together and return to the ultimate.
Midrash is a way of interpreting biblical stories that goes beyond simple distillation of religious, legal or moral teachings. It fills in many gaps left in the biblical narrative regarding events and personalities that are only hinted at. In one of these collections a proverb states that “marriages are made in heaven”:
A Roman matron, on being told by R. Jose ben Ḥalafta that God arranges all marriages, said that this was an easy matter, and boasted that she could do as much herself. Thereupon she assembled her male and female slaves and paired them off in couples; but on the morrow they all went to her with complaints. Then she admitted that divine intervention is necessary to create suitable marriages.
In modern usage, Jewish singles will say that they are looking for their bashert, meaning they are looking for that person who will complement them perfectly, and whom they will complement perfectly. Since it’s considered to have been foreordained by God whom one will marry, one’s spouse is considered to be one’s bashert by definition, independent of whether the couple’s marital life works out well or not. That’s a key concept to this theory.
The Pagan Metaphysical Theory
Pagan Metaphysics relies heavily on Universal Law to define and explain spiritual connections such as soul mates. So lets start at the beginning with the foundation of Universal Law, Hierarchy and Organization as taught by Metaphysical principles. First and for most the Universe is not totally random. There is a form and function known as the Universal Laws. Many are familiar with the Universal Law of Accountability or Manifestation. These are the two most known and popular laws. But there are others that govern various aspects of existence.
The Law of Chaos and Creation is the first Universal Law that forms the Divine Universe. From Divine thought and intervention Chaos was created through the Big Bang, the physical Universe was formed and the process of creation and evolution began. Out of this Chaos spiritual energy was formed. That’s me and you and all living spiritual entities seen and unseen through out the Divine Universe.
At this singular moment in time our spirit was created from Divine Energy. The Divine is within us, because we are part of the Divine thought that created the Universe. Another way of saying this is, the Divine is within us because we are the Divine.
Venus LoveTwin Souls
At this moment of creation the biggest overriding component of the Divine was established, that of balance. When our spiritual essence was created so to was an exact duplicate to balance the energy of nature. This is our Twin Soul. Our Twin is exactly like us and much like physical Twins when separated at birth we exercise our free will and choice, but oddly our choices seem to mirror one another through time and space.
Now some teachings tell us that our Twin never incarnates at the same time we incarnate. This is part of the Divine Law of Balance. When we are physical, our Twin is Spiritual to ensure a balance of energy in the Universe.
Some teachings take this concept a step further and explain that not only do Twin Souls never incarnate at the same time, they never incarnate in the same place. So if you’re here in this embodiment, your Twin is in spirit somewhere else in the Divine Universal Realm.
Now if the Universe is all about balance, these concepts make sense. To ensure the scale of energy throughout the Divine Universe is balanced, we and our twins must be on opposite ends of that scale.
There are some issues behind these theories however. If we are positive compassionate and caring spirits, then wouldn’t our Twin have to be the opposite? Some suggest that the concepts of positive and negative being related to good and bad are completely man-made and are not utilized in the same form on the spiritual level.
For the concept of positive and negative we can look at science to help understand this idea. Scientifically speaking a magnet has 2 polarities, a positive side and a negative side. A magnet makes the connection to another magnet not through the positive sides together, but rather through the opposite opposing polarities together. Positive to Negative.
In other words, two magnets connect in this manner: Negative / Positive to Negative / Positive
– Opposing energies are attracted to one another.
Not in this manner: Negative / Positive to Positive / Negative
– Same or like energies repeal each other.
Since Metaphysics is the study of physics beyond physics; I don’t think it would establish one principle in physics; only to establish an opposing or opposite principle in metaphysics. Additionally the negative polarity isn’t “bad” energy, it’s similar but not the same energy. So while we think of positive and negative as being good and bad, they’re not; they’re simply opposite polarities.
If we continue this concept in relation to Twin Souls you might think of it this way. Each soul builds a blue print to follow once it has incarnated. Like all blue prints once the building process begins, alterations take place. You use free will and choice to decorate, take out a wall here, add a window there, change the color of the sink to emphasis the light from that window; all based on the process of construction.
You and your Twin Soul have shared commonalities through out your existence when creating a blue print for incarnation. And similarly you have each faced the same fork in the road. The experiences on one side of the fork are positive energy and the other holds the negative energy. If you choose the right fork, your Twin (when confronted with the same choice) will choose the opposite or left fork.
CompassionBut doesn’t that make choices pre-ordained?
Not really. Because you may choose designate which way to go on your map at the beginning of your journey, but when you are confronted with the fork in the physical world, your experiences may influence you to choose the opposite road.
Don’t think linear here. You and your Twin have had thousands of lifetimes where you have had similar experiences. But those lifetimes do not have to mirror one another one after the other. Life maybe a circle, but it has many spokes that support its framework. Not all of those spokes are exact opposite of each other. If they were, the wheel would fail from lack of support.
Instead, we utilize free will and choice that allows us to make our own determinations to our own destiny. Our Twin may choose a similar path in their next incarnation, or they may choose the opposite. But when all is said and done, by the time we both reach the point of total enlightenment, we will have balanced out choices and become equals on the Universal scale.
Now some believe the concepts defined by Aristotle and Theosophy are actually those of the Twin Soul, not the soul mate. Which makes some sense if you view the description as an individual with four arms, four legs and two heads/faces being split in two. Doesn’t that sound more like a Twin than a mate? There are few other reasons behind this approach as well. For instance, while you have one Twin Soul, you can have multiple Soul Mates in your multitude of lives and spiritual existences.
Soul Mates
The misconception of “Soul Mate” vs “Twin Soul” can be directed toward modern day commercialism. Your soul mate is indeed the perfect connection of love to you. But once again the idea of what that means has been altered by man made perceptions and propagated by greeting card and flower companies. Here we need to rise above the mundane concepts of the physical world and look at the spiritual law behind the idea of “Soul Mate”.
On a spiritual level there is no greater gift than love. When that concept is implemented here in the physical world it can come in the form of a mother’s love of her child, a father’s sacrifice to protect his children and so on. It is not solely a physical intimate relationship of sexual partners that are destined to be together in this lifetime. Nice idea, but in a way that approach lessons the importance of a Soul Mate in your lifetime.
A Soul Mate is a spirit that shares your spiritual progression toward enlightenment. Think of them as part of your buddy system, traveling together through the cosmos and helping each other meet the challenges. You and your buddies share both knowledge and wisdom, but each may have their own special talents that enhance the group overall. You maybe better at writing music and your buddy has the talent to write the lyrics. Together you can make beautiful music because you utilize your skills in harmony with each other. This is the basic concept behind the relationship between you and your soul mate.
You do not incarnate with your soul mates in every lifetime. While in spirit you build your blue print and choose the lessons to learn in order to advance your soul toward enlightenment. These lessons involve karma, spiritual knowledge and practice. Each relationship you have in this embodiment and your own self discovery will all impact the challenges you face during the incarnation. And more importantly the reactions you express in those situations.
Now in making these choices we don’t establish every lifetime as one that will be difficult and the struggles will be immense. We may go through a lifetime of great challenge and in the next incarnation we may build our blue print for an easier path as a reward or simply to balance out the hardships from the past incarnation.
It’s in these lifetimes that we choose the hard lessons and potential hardships that one of our soul mates will agree to work with us. They come into our life right when we need them the most. They participate in the hard lesson and help us form the events that will challenge our soul to learn and cross the chasm so we can put that lesson behind us. Once we have achieved the goal, the soul mate will probably walk out of our physical life.
These relationships can be parent/child, sibling/sibling, boss/employee, same sex, opposite sex, friend or lover. But whatever the design of the relationship from spirit, they are always about the love of spirit, helping, guiding and perhaps sacrificing in order to achieve the spiritual mission of evolving toward enlightenment. And it is because of this aspect of enlightenment that makes these relationships so important and meaningful to us.
While we have many Soul Mate buddies, we have even more karmic relationships that can be just as important.
Healing Through Compassion & AffirmationKarmic Relationships
Almost everyone you know in your life today has some type of karmic relationship to you from a past life. There maybe a few who you meet that are simply passing through your journey and you feel no connection to them. They are indifferent, simple acquaintances you share a little time with. In that brief moment you may develop a spiritual connection and a measure of karma for your next shared lifetime. But not everyone on the planet has a karmic connection to you and it’s important to remember this.
Karmic relationships are based on balance, similar to that of the Twin Soul. The main difference is, they are not a twin and the balance of energy we share with the karmic relationships occur from one shared incarnation to the next. We may be female in this lifetime and have an agreement to be the mother of a soul that was our mother in a previous incarnation. It’s an exchange of energy designed to promote spiritual learning and balance the energy we share during our lives together.
Consequently there are karmic relationships that are loving and supportive and others that are challenging. Each is designed to teach us both something. But as with all things, we all have free will and choice. We may encounter a soul that chooses to be controlling, resulting from some karmic situation their soul went through in a previous incarnation that we weren’t even part of. In these cases, someone who was murdered might put themselves in a similar life experience where they come face to face with the choice of killing someone or not. And if they make the same choice and murder you, they develop a big chunk of karma to answer for. Not only to you, but to the Divine Universal energy we are all part of. We could get into a great discussion of reincarnation and karma here, but that topic is for another time. Let’s focus on the karmic relationships themselves and what they mean to us.
In some of these relationships we can be a teacher to someone who becomes our teacher next time around. That same soul can become a brother or sister to us in a different life supporting our lessons for family evolution, or a lover or friend and so on. Through each embodiment we develop deep bonds with some of these souls similar to the way we develop deep bonds to certain people in our incarnated life. We have best friends that we feel we’ve known for ever, or lovers who simply know us better than we know our selves. Each of these relationships have been built on mutual love and respect through our existence as spiritual beings. So we have ‘known’ each other “forever”, at least on a spiritual level.
Simply because these close karmic relationships aren’t in the same form as the Twin Soul or Soul Mate doesn’t make them less important or that they lack meaning. In reality they are more important. These are the relationships that we share from lifetime to lifetime helping each other overcome all the mundane lessons and participate in all the challenging and rewarding lessons as well. They hold the deepest connection to our soul and they are vital to both our physical existence and our spiritual evolution.
There will be some karmic relationships that work so well together, that they become permanent fixtures in one form or another in each embodiment we share. These extra special relationships can be the ones commercial vendors think of when they use the term ‘soul mate’. I like to call these relationships Spirit Mates. And here’s why.

Play Time
Spirit Mates
The theory of Reincarnation works like this from a metaphysical perspective. We are complete energy in spirit, holding all the memories of every lifetime we’ve ever had within our being. As spirit we are capable of holding this vast amount of energy, viewing it from the perspective of Divine knowledge and wisdom. But when we incarnate, we cannot bring all this energy and knowledge into our physical being. It would be overwhelming. Instead we choose previous lifetimes that hold knowledge, experience and wisdom that will be beneficial to us as we face the lessons we set on our blue print for the coming incarnation. Since the Universe is about balance, we balance the number of previous lifetimes with the implementation of who we will become on a physical level.
By that I mean, our physical body is made up of 23 DNA strands we get from our parents. This DNA determines our eye, hair and skin color. It dictates our skeletal features based on nationality and our physical health based on race and so on. To balance the physical DNA to spirit, we choose 22 past lives, to incorporate into the coming incarnation. These 22 strands plus the coming lifetime make up our 23 Spiritual DNA strands and together they establish the energy of our soul. The soul is therefore a subset of the greater spirit. We implement these 23 spiritual DNA memories into our chakra centers and this becomes the physical manifestation of the soul within the physical body. Our soul remains connected to the larger spiritual body through what many call the “silver cord” that can be seen in altered states of awareness connected at our solar plexus (where your rib cage meets at the bottom) and the opposite end travels to the ethereal plane where the spirit body resides.
Because our Soul Mates don’t come into every incarnation we have, they are somewhat limited in their connection to us. They are a small part of our past, though a meaningful part. But they are not as connected to us and important to us as the Spirit Mates who have come with us through a vast number of incarnations. They are with us on a much bigger scale and therefore more meaningful to us in each incarnation.
Now take that idea a little further and consider the 22 past lives you pulled into this one to work with. In all the thousands of lifetimes you probably had, only 22 are chosen for this incarnation. And within those 22 lifetimes, how many other souls will incarnate with you at this time to share knowledge, experiences and karmic events with you? It raises the importance of their interaction in your life, does it not?
When we work to understand all these relationships we can develop both a deeper understanding of their importance in our physical lives and their greater impact to our spiritual evolution. There are many ways to learn about the relationships in your life. Through dreams, deep meditation and past life regression we can get a glimpse of our spiritual connections and learn from them. We can share this knowledge with those we have in our lives and strengthen our understanding of each other and why we’re connected and what we bring to the table to share with one another.
Remember all of these relationships are a two way street. These spirits are important to you, just as you are important to them. Each type of spiritual connection has meaning and purpose in your life. Each should be honored and respected for the gifts and sacrifices they provide for our benefit. In honoring them, we honor ourselves as well. Because we too give to these relationships that which we receive from them.

How To Work Spells - Healing Spells and Deepening Rituals

Okay, everyone, this is the final and last lesson that we will deal with spells (just how to work with them). In this post we're going to learn some of the most advanced and powerful magic out there. Before you try to perform any of this, make sure that you have a lot of PRACTICE. The spells here required a lot of energy to cast - but the reward is worth it. amazingly powerful spells can accomplish just about anything, beyond what you thought was possible with magic.

So if you feel comfortable trying some of these "Advanced Spells" get ready for an incredible power rush as you work with new, potent magical forces.

What Energies Do You Need?

Before we really delve into the advanced spells, you need to know a bit more about the powerful energy needed to cast these spells. Advanced magic requires you to raise and manipulate energy. Really, the better you become at raising energy, the more effective ALL your spells will be.

So, what does "raising energy" mean? Where does the energy come from? Let's remember about the three types of energy: personal energy, earth energy, and divine energy. Remember that most witches don't use their own personal energy for spells. Instead, they draw upon the earth energy from plants, candles stones, and other forces to use in their spells. (It's a lot less draining and makes for much more powerful spells, when you draw from the vast stores of earth energy.)

You've already practiced an exercise to sense and manipulate energy. Keeping practicing and honing this technique because it is very important. Remember, in the exercise, how you rubbed your hands together to create your personal energy ball? How you could change it, make it bigger or smaller if you wanted? Well, you can do the same thing with earth energy, but instead of drawing energy from inside yourself, you draw it from the earth, or a plant. This energy, instead of returning to the earth, is directed into a candle or another object used in your spells. This energy multiplies the power of your spell many times over.

Here's an example of how it works: If you are outside, try using a tree or the earth itself for this. If you can't find a place to be outside, or if you are working your spells inside, then a plant can also work well for this purpose.

Sit near your earth energy source. Close your eyes and breathe slowly and deeply, clearing your mind and relaxing your body. Hold your left palm a few inches above the earth, tree, or plant. Focus your awareness on your palm. Feel the energy radiating from the earth, and feel your own energy flowing from your palm, mixing together and blending with the earth energy. Picture small threads or tendrils binding the energies together, like a rope. Now you are connected. Use this connection to draw the energy up from the tree, earth, or plant.

Picture it forming a glowing ball in your hand. Now the energy is yours to play with you can make the ball bigger or smaller, and change its color or shape. When you feel comfortable manipulating the energy, you can either release it back into the earth, basically detaching it from your own energy and letting it flow back into the source. Or, you can direct the energy moving into the candle, as you slowly untangle your own energy, like untangling a ball of string.

Now, when you light the candle during your spell, it will contain the powerful earth energy that you have raised.

Eliminate Addictions Spell

So let's get right into the advanced spells YOU need to know about. Ready? Let's get started by talking about bad habits. We all have them, even the ones we don't like to admit to. And we have our own addictions too - some of which are very harmful to ourselves and others. Breaking free of addiction isn't easy, but with the help of some powerful magic, its possible.

The "Eliminate Addictions" Spell should be performed during the waning moon, when the moon is getting smaller.

You will need the following ingredients:

Your magic broom, circle, and altar
A blue candle and a tool to carve the candle with
One teaspoon of dried anise seeds
One teaspoon of ground cinnamon
One teaspoon of cloves
One teaspoon of sage
One teaspoon of St. John's Wort

Before you start the spell, take the time to "charge" your candle with energy. This is performed exactly as described; by drawing the earth energy from a natural source and directing it into the candle.

To prepare yourself for the spell, sweep the area with your magical broom. Lay your magic circle using crystals, candles, or a cord. Assemble your ingredients on your alter.

Now, hold the unlit candle in both hands and visualize yourself free of your bad habit or addiction. Affirm to yourself: "I control my desires."

Carve your name and birth date into the candle.

At the base of the candle, carve today's date and carve the symbol that represents the habit you wish to break. Scratch an X over it afterwards.

Concentrate once more on your wish to stop your addiction, feeling the power contained in the candle. Light the candle.

While the candle is burning, use a mortar and pestle to ground the herbs together. Allow the motion to release any pent up anger, frustration, or fears.

Place the herbs in a small pouch, and carry it around with you at all times. Whenever you should feel a strong craving or want to return to your habit, open the bag and take a deep breath of your charm. The herbs will relax you and allow you to overcome your craving, reminding you of your power.

The constant reminder of your power and self-control will allow you to easily break bad habits and overcome addictions.

Of course, with any serious or dangerous addiction such as drugs or alcohol or self-harming, you should also take other measures and consult with a counselor or an other professional. But the magic charm will give you the additional support even in that kind of situation.

Healing Spell

Healing spells. They are some of the most powerful spells that a witch can perform. But, like with other matters of life and death, their outcome is often uncertain. Performing a healing spell is not a surefire guarantee that the person will recover. Nevertheless, healing spells DO help in many cases, and they are especially helpful for giving strength and hope to the sick person.

Healing spells require a lot of energy to perform, so make sure that you have practiced your energy raising and manipulating before attempting this one.

This particular healing spell is an offering to the powerful healing spirit.

Here are the supplies you will need for this spell:

Your magic broom, circle, and altar
Some white wine
A white candle
A bowl of popcorn, coated in palm oil

Sweep the area with your broom, lay your magic circle and place a cup of white wine and the bowl of popcorn on your altar, along with the candle. Before you start, perform you meditation exercise to charge the candle with earth energy. Light the candle, and say the following incantation:

Healing spirits, hear my plea,
Look with favor on this offering for thee.
Bring healing energy to ______________ today.
And in the light of health may he/she forever stay.
So mote it be.

Leave the popcorn on your altar for seventeen days. During that time, use your alter for petition, prayer, and reflection. After seventeen days, take the popcorn outside and feed it to the birds.

This will seal the spell and the illness will be neutralized. Of course, you want to exercise preventative measures before you can get sick, so that you won't need this healing spell.

Congratulations! You have completed the "How To Work Spells" guide! I hope that you have learned a lot when it comes to working with spells and how you are to approach all of this. When given the chance, practice, practice, and practice as much as you can! Because you will be grateful for knowing what to do in a slip second instance. And if you ever meet Aurora, make sure to thank her to the bottom of your heart, because when I bought her book, I thought that it was very informative; that's why I used it for you guys!

Anyway, my next most will deal more about the moon phases and why they are important and how to tell which phase is which (because it gets SO confusing!) and we'll be talking about some pretty important dates that Pagans have celebrated for hundreds and hundreds of years (predating the Christian holidays, might I just add). So get plenty of rest, practice as much as you can, and blessed be!

How To Work Spells - Love Spells

Hi everyone! To follow off on the last post, and the book, I'm mainly going to explain love spells to you, because they can be easily confused about what they are used for and how to use them correctly. If the information stuff doesn't bore any of you, then I might put the practice spell at the bottom. Don't forget to put this in your Book of Shadows if you want and we'll get started!

So, pay close attention, because love spells, when done correctly, are extremely potent and powerful. They can do a lot of things; positive and negative, so you better watch what you are doing first.

Each culture has their own kind of love magic, but the ultimate purpose is really the same: to find, keep, and enhance love through magic. Love spells have been practiced for centuries on every continent, by almost every culture, so it's kind of widely known.

Believe it or not, love magic is actually everywhere you go. It may have been that you have even practiced some kind and form of love magic before. If you have ever worn jewelry to make yourself more attractive, then guess what? You have used a love charm! If you spray on perfume or cologne, it probably contains some aphrodisiac flowers or smells...and, yes, that's a love potion! And if you've ever read your horoscope in the paper to get advice about your love life, well...you're using divination!

Love magic is all a round us. And really, any time that you consciously choose to do something to make yourself attractive, or to attract someone special, you are sending out your own personal love vibrations. And you are invoking a kind of love magic. But because love magic is so powerful, it must be taken seriously. Love is such a powerful force that anyone who tried to play around with love spells incorrectly may find themselves getting burned.

There are many things love spells can do for you. They can make you more desirable and attractive. They can send out vibrations to attract a specific person. They can put out positive energy that will attract your soul mate. And they can create the perfect atmosphere for love to grow. But once the spark of love is ignited, the rest is up to you and your partner. Because even the most powerful love spells have their limits.

A love spell can bring two people together, but it can't force someone to love you. And a love spell cannot keep two people together against their will. Remember the Wiccan Rede I mentioned before "Harm none." When you use love magic to interfere with another person's free will, you are causing them harm. Make sure, like REALLY MAKE SURE, that the love spell you want to do does not interfere with someone's free will. NEVER attempt to use love magic to manipulate someone else's emotions. Not only does this violate the Rede, but it also falls into the category of black magic.

So, before you really do your first love spell, here are some things that should  be useful information:

Most witches recommend that you perform love spells to attract love in general, not a specific person. This way you avoid the problem of interfering with free will.

If you DO have someone specific in mind, then you can cast a spell to attract that person, with the intent that it should work ONLY if you are right for each other and no harm will come of it. If you have sincere intentions, then you can safely cast a love spell for a specific person. But be prepared to accept that the spell will not work if you are not right for each other. If the person you have in mind is not your true love, then the spell won't work.

A very important component of magic is emotion, feeling, and concentration. A love spell will not be effective unless you have very strong feelings about what you are attempting to do. This may all sound WAY too serious, but just think about it like this:

Love is the MOST powerful feeling in the world. And magic is extremely powerful too. When you put the two together, wouldn't you want to do it the right way?

The best time to do a love spell, is on a Friday, while the moon is waxing (or getting bigger). When doing love spells, they will be a lot more powerful if you visualize and concentrate on the desired results of your spell.

And when you are about to do something, your rituals and spells should be kept as secret as possible. Don't share what you are doing with people who will just laugh at you or mock you. You don't need those kinds of  negative people messing with your energy. Keeping your spells and rituals as private as possible will give it more meaning to you and make it even MORE important, and they will be more effective.

So, I think that we can actually look at a REAL love spell. I'll do my best to keep it simple, but when you do spells, you follow them like they own your life, because you want them to go right in every way possible. And remember that you want to FEEL for the spell: feel the love you want, have, and need/desire. Picture the most amazing memory of love and let it surround you and fill you. Think of doing a spell kind of like a play. You have to BE the role and part in order to make it more effective.

What You Will Need:

  • a) Two candles, preferably red or pink (one for you, one for he lover)
  • b) Candle holders
  • c) Paper
  • d) Scissors
  • e) A pen or pencil

  • What You Will Need To Do:

Write your names on two pieces of paper which stand underneath the candle holder. On a third piece of paper, write both your names and draw a circle around them.

Place the candles about a foot apart on their respective pieces of paper, with the third piece of paper exactly in the center.

Light your candle first and say:

    Burn bright, burn true,
    heart of (your name)

Then light the other and say:

    Burn bright, burn true,
    heart of (lover's name)

If you have a wand, trace a figure of eight around the two candles, making sure to cross over exactly each time over the third piece of paper. If you don't, use the original inbuilt human wand - your index finger.

    Say with each pass slowly:

    A meeting of two hearts
    if it is ordained
    must come to pass.

Stop, take a deep breath in and out, and start on the second set. Three passes again, full fig. eight around the candles.

    Let no-one and nothing
    stand in the way
of the meeting of two hearts.

Stop, take a deep breath and start the 3rd set of 3 passes.

    Two hearts beat as one
    it is my will
    and it is done.

Now sit down and focus on the paper with the circle and both your names which is the power focus of this ritual.

See yourself and the lover together, being honest and true together, talking, making love, making decisions. Just you and her, keep that completely clear and powerful in your mind.

When you are ready, move both candles together and tip them so their flames combine. Take the circle paper and say:

    My will is transferred
    my spell has been heard
As I will, so mote it be.

Burn the circle paper in the single flame.

Blow out the single flame as one.

Wrap the candles and the name papers in tissue and dispose of them.

Remember, you are only doing this spell with GOOD INTENTIONS. Taking a person's free will is basically a spiritual crime that will haunt you for a very very long time. Be careful if you ever think about doing this spell or any other love spells. Blessed be.

My Promised Spells - Luck and Confidence

Hi everyone! Like I promised, a good luck spell! When you do write out your wish, use standard poetry form (first line rhymes with the second, third rhymes with fourth, etc.), because 1. it does sound cool, 2. that is how most spells are written (as seen below). And now that I have my Book of Shadows back, I will post your beauty spell!
Wait, what is a Book of Shadows? I ams SO glad you asked. You see, a Book of Shadows (for all of you who have NEVER heard of such a thing) is a collection of events, spells, notes, anything that has to do with your practiceing with magic. You want to write EVERYTHING that you learn down so that you never forget and you can pass it down to your younglins! Also, you can record anything in it: Dreams, Thoughts, Spells, How many times you've seen your crush and his class schedual, anything! Because this is YOURS and only yours until you give it to the next generation. I will be looking for a way to bless your Book of Shadows, because...I still need too...BUT you can use ANY notebook, drawing book, music book, ANYTHING, as long as you feel a connection to it and it reflects you and your personality. Now, why don't you look over this good luck spell and then the beauty spell. Since I have MY Book of Shadows, we'll be able to do actual lessons! P.s. Wish me luck tonight! I hope my concert goes great!
    Blessed Be!

    Good Luck Spell
Casting this spell requires some preparation. You need to write your wish on a small piece of paper, hold it folded in your hand and then visualize your wish coming true. Thereafter, you should chant the above spell and burn the paper.
On this sheet my wish be told
No aspect of my heart withhold
For this I need quick fruition
So that my life may match my vision.

    Confidence Spell

    What you'll need:
    • A small shell or other item you can carry with you
    • Yellow candle
Light the candle and hold it in your right hand. Say:
    "Please give me confidence
So I can be the best
    I failed it once
But now I will be better than the rest"
Pass the shell through the flame and say:
"May this be my lucky charm so my wish can come true"
Kiss the shell for good luck and pass it through the flame one last time and say:
"May my charm help me in all I do"
Keep the shell with you, touching it frequently to fill you with confidence.

    Quick Love Spell --> magic-spells-and-potions.com

Hi everyone! So, the last time I posted a beauty spell, there were a lot of hits (really meaning you liked it!!!), so this is a love spell. The thing about love spells is they shouldn't really be used if you are breaking the 3x3 law (do unto you sort of thing) because taking a person's free will is against magic. Instead, this is to include that 3x3 law so you aren't breaking it! Later I'll be posting another beauty spell, so come check me out. Also, I'll be posting a good luck spell because I have a concert tonight and I need all the luck I can get! Blessed Be!

The Love Attraction Spell / Love Attraction Ritual

    Featuring The Law Of Three

    Light a candle.

Focus on the person/animal/object/creature/spirit/being that is your example of love, and of which you want more in your life.

If your mind drifts to "the bad bits of the squid" say to yourself out aloud and in your mind at the same time, "Only the love! Let me feel the love!" and focus on the sensations and feelings of loving someone/something with all your heart.

Remember that if you are using the law of three, the purer your vibration and the stronger your energy can be, the more powerful the good effects that come back to you in turn.

When you feel only love (admiration, wonderment, beauty, awesome, I love!) take a deep breath and say:

I now call love into my life
according to the law of three
love is my goal, love is my due,
love is my will, so will it be.
Clap your hands three times, then blow out the candle.

It's easy, a very good practice spell indeed and makes you feel really good, powerful, vibrant. As all good magic spells should!

    So there we have it.

Thanks for your question, it's a good question and I'll post a version of this publicly too because it is such a useful all round spell that uses the principles of magic, and of love, well, they are the same!

Lots of blessings to you and may you find more love than you ever expected!

Prayers For Death (or Things Having To Do With Death)

Tonight my dear childhood pet, Tobey, passed on. He may have been just a rabbit, but he was a good friend of mine. I have noticed, while I was looking for prayers to help his spirit move on to the next world, that there wasn't really much of any that had to do with Death. So, here is a list of prayers that will help in case you come across these problems. The subject of Death I will touch on later on, but right now I grieve. Blessed be.

    Deep Peace to You
Deep peace of the running wave to you.
Deep peace of the flowing air to you.
Deep peace of the quiet earth to you.
Deep peace of the shining stars to you.
Deep peace of the infinite peace to you.

    - Adapted from Ancient Gaelic Runes -

    Prayer For The Dying
Time has passed, the Wheel has turned.
It is time for you [person's name] to move on.

You will walk hand in hand with the Lord and Lady
and with your ancestors who came before you.

Great Mother, welcome [name of person]
    back into your womb.

And Great Father welcome [him/her] back
    into your divine instruction.

Let [him/her] come to you and
know that [s/he] has been blessed
by your gracious gift of Life.

Let [him/her] come into your Divine Love,
    and let [him/her] know
that [s/he] has left behind a life of legacy,
that [s/he] shall be remembered and loved.

    As [s/he] enters your world,
wrap [him/her] in your loving arms,
    and welcome [him/her] back home.

Let [him/her] speak to the Ancient Ones
    to learn the greater mysteries
    that lie beyond the veil.

Give [him/her] the strength to take these final steps,
and allow [him/her] to do so with peace and dignity.

    Those of us left behind
    shall indeed mourn [his/her] death,
    but we shall also know
    that [his/her] Soul and Spirit
    is coming back
to Holy Mother and Holy Father,
and that [s/he] shall be made whole again.

We shall cry, but we shall also laugh,
for we shall celebrate the Life
that had been given to [person's name.]

    And let [him/her] also know
that as we now merry part,
that we shall also merry meet again.

    And we now, with these candles {light candles}
respect the flame of [person's name]'s life,
and though these candle flames shall die out,
we know that [person's name] shall live on,
and [his/her] flame shall never cease to burn,
and we also know that [s/he] shall be reborn anew.

Take [him/her] by the hand and
guide [him/her] back into your heart,
for this is what is right and just.

    Let [him/her] walk unerringly
down the path that leads to your Love.

This is our will and so mote it be.
    Amen and Amen.

    - Crimson Peaceful Wolf -
    - Wiccan Prayer -

    Carry On Prayer
Beloved one, you are dying [dead],
    but you are not alone.

    We are here with you,
    the beloved dead await you.

    You go from love
    into love.
    Carry with you
    only love.

    May our love carry you
    and open the way.

    - Carry Only Love

    Wiccan Prayer for One Assisting
    Someone in Dying

    Goddess of death,
I stand here as your priest/ess
    knowing that life
    must be winnowed
    to thrive.

This is a holy act I perform:
    to open a gateway
    for a willing one
    to come to you.

This is an act of healing,
    a release from suffering,
    an end to pain.

    Here is one
    whose arms are open
    to embrace you.

Wiccan Prayer For One Who Has Had
    a Miscarriage

    Mother of life,
    Mother of death,
here is a spirit so new
that the gates of life and death
are just an archway in [his/her] dancing ground.

[S/he] has danced [his/her] way back to you.
    [His/her] passage is easy
    but mine is hard.

I wanted to hold [his/her] living flesh
and feel [his/her] soft breath and [his/her] heartbeat.
    I nurtured [his/her] in my body;
I would have fed [his/her] from my breasts.
I would have cared for [him/her]
    and watched [his/her] first steps
    and listened for [his/her] voice.

No other child that may come to me
will ever be what [s/he] would have been.
Nothing, nobody, will ever replace [him/her].

    Whatever healing I may find,
this loss will always be a part of me.

    Bless my womb,
    which has the power
    to create life and death.

Bless my arms that would have embraced [him/her].
    Bless my hands
    that would have lifted [him/her].
    Bless my heart that grieves.

May the Blessing of Light Be on You
May the blessed sunlight shine on you
    like a great peat fire,
so that strangers and friends may come
    and warm themselves at it.

And may light shine out of the two eyes of you,
like a candle set in the window of a house,
bidding the wanderer come in out of the storm.

And may the blessing of the rain be on you,
may it beat upon your Spirit
and wash it fair and clean,
and leave there a shining pool
where the blue of Heaven shines,
    and sometimes a star.

And may the blessing of the earth be on you,
soft under your feet as you pass along the roads,
soft under you as you lie out on it,
    tired at the end of day;
and may it rest easy over you
when, at last, you lie out under it.

May it rest so lightly over you
that your soul may be out
    from under it quickly;
up and off and on its way to Heaven.

And now may Spirit bless you,
    and bless you kindly.

    - Pagan Invocation -

For Samhain Dreams of the Dead
    Magic of Samhain dreams
    Spirits of mystical north,
O’ guardian of earth, heed our prayers
    Throughout this rite, come forth.
As the stars crown our brow,
This song of wicca we hear,
Open the gates that our loved ones may pass
And our words draw them near.

    Magic of Samhain dreams
    Spirits of mystical east,
O’ guardian of air, heed our prayers
    At behest of wiccan words.
As on wings of warding we soar
This song of wicca we hear,
Open the gates that our loved ones may pass
And our words draw them near.

    Magic of Samhain dreams,
    Spirits of mystical south,
O’ guardian of flame, heed our prayers
And spare us lengths of drouth.
As your touch warms our souls
This song of wicca we hear,
Open the gates that our loved ones may pass
And our words draw them near.

    Magic of Samhain dreams,
    Spirits of mystical west,
O’ guardian of water, heed our prayers

And deem we sisters and brothers blessed.
    As your rushing rivers flow
This song of wicca we hear
Open the gates that our loved ones may pass
And our words draw them near.

    - Samhain Chant for the Dead -
    - A la Wesley Lowe -

A Wiccan Prayer for the Dying
Time has passed, the Wheel has turned.
It is time for me to move on.

I will walk hand in hand with the Ancient Ones,
and with my ancestors who came before me.

Great Mother, welcome me back into your womb,
I come to you and know I am blessed,
for my life has been one I am proud of.

    As I enter your world,
wrap me in your loving arms,
    and welcome me.

Lord of Death, I wait for you to take me,
I come to you willingly, with eyes wide open,
as my last moment approaches on the horizon.

May I look upon you without fear, without pain,
and knowing that those who walked before me,
await me on the other side.

O Ancient Ones, give me strength to take these final steps,
and allow me to do so with peace and dignity.

Let my family mourn my passing but not my loss,
and let them heal knowing I will see them again.

Time has passed and the Wheel has turned.
It is time for me to move on.

    Wedding Ceremonies

Do you even know the history of marriage where it all came from ?

The word, "Wedding" comes from the Roman Pagan word "wedd" that meant a man would marry a woman and pay the Bride's father.

    Roman Pagan Wedding Ceremony Vows
A Tradition that goes back over 6 thousand years
I, N., take thee N to my wedded wife, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better for worse, for richer for poorer, for fairer or fouler, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death us depart, according to Goddess's holy ordinance; and thereunto I plight thee my troth.
I N. take thee N to my wedded husband, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better for worse, for richer or poorer, in sickness and in health, to be bonny and buxom at bed and at board, to love and to cherish, till death us depart, according to Goddess's holy ordinance; and thereunto I plight thee my troth.
Sound Familier this tradition is still carried to this very day

    Wedding Ring

The first recorded marriage rings date back to the days when early man. Approximately 3,000 BC, Egyptians originated the phrase "without beginning, without end" in describing the significance of the wedding ring. These rings were made of woven hemp which constantly wore out and needed replacement. Later Romans used metal rings Although Romans originally used iron but later gold was used now as a symbol of all that is pure. Diamonds were first used by Italians, who believed that it was created from the flames of love.

    Bridal Veil
During the Roman and Greek Empire
Brides wore a crown of flowers during the wedding ceremony. The couple may walk around the altar three times representing the Holy Pagan Trinity Goddesses to give thanks and blessings from
    Pagan Goddesses ,
    Athena Goddess of Wisdom
who blessed the wedding with fertility and knowledge

Artemis She was also a goddess of childbirth,
Goddess of Virginity and the protectress of the women against abusive husbands

Hera Her chief function was as the goddess of women and marriage. In Roman mythology, Juno was the name of Hera

June which named for Juno or Hera is the most popular month for women to get married is there is any reason why maybe this is why

    Bouquet

Wedding bouquets were originally made of such strong herbs as thyme and garlic, which were meant to frighten away evil spirits, and to cover the stench emitting from people who had not bathed recently

Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Blue

A tradition that goes back to the Roman and Greek Empire days

This superstition of the Bride wearing something that fits each of these four categories originated in Europe to ward off evil spirits. Something Old: This tradition symbolized the sense of continuity while making the transition from a single person to that of a married couple. Something New: This tradition symbolized that marriage represented a transition to adulthood. Something Borrowed: This tradition symbolized the popular belief that by borrowing something from a happily married couple, good fortune would follow the newlyweds. Something Blue: In ancient Israel, blue was the border color of the Bride's dress, symbolizing purity, constancy and fidelity.

    Tying The Knot

This comes from the days of the Roman empire when the Bride wore a girdle that was tied in knots. The Groom untied the knots prior to the consummation of their marriage.

    Wedding Cake

Also during the days of the Roman empire, wedding cakes were baked of wheat or barley. At the reception, they were traditionally broken over the head of the new Bride by the Groom as a symbol of her fertility. Guests would then scramble for pieces of the cake, and take them home for good luck. It later became a tradition to place many small cakes on top of each other as high as possible.

    Shoes On Vehicle

Ancient Romans used to transfer to the Groom his authority over his Bride when her Father gave the Groom her shoes. In later years, guests threw their own shoes at the newlyweds to signify this transfer of authority. Today, this tradition is kept alive by simply tying old shoes to the back of the newlywed's vehicle before they leave their wedding reception celebration.

    Stag Parties

This is the male equivalent of the Bridal Shower. Roman empire soldiers would feast with the Groom the night before his wedding to say goodbye to his irresponsible days of bachelorhood, and to renew their vows of allegiance to their friendships.

Carrying The Bride Over The Threshold
    Symbolic Roman and Greek tradition
the Theshold or doorway was a Reference to the Pagan god Janus
looking from the past and looking into the future steeping or carrying the bride over the Threshold means
leaving the past and going on future together
back then people kept thier Brooms over the Threshold
and would jump over a broom to symbolize new life from old

    Tossing Rice
An Ancient Roman and Greek Tradition
By believing that newlyweds brought good luck, guests used to shower them with nuts and grains to insure a bountiful harvest, and many children to work the land. During years of a poor harvest, rice was tossed instead. This tradition continues today with rice or birdseed (where permitted), or bubbles to wish the Bride and Groom much happiness. Incidentally, it is not true that birds eating rice thrown after a wedding ceremony will cause their stomachs to enlarge and eventually explode. This myth may have simply evolved from church and synagogue employees weary from cleaning up after every wedding ceremony!

Today couples also Release Butterflies which is a pagan Symbol of Transformation

Walking or Throwing of Rose petals
is a tribute to the Pagan Goddess Venus the Goddess of love and beauty
    the Rose is her Symbol

    Wedding Toast
am Ancient Roman and Greek and Eygptian tradition
where bread would be placed in the bottom of two drinking glasses usually of wine or mead or sweet honey drink for the newlyweds. They would then drink as fast as they could to be the first person to get to the toast. According to legend, the winner would rule their household!
A tradition still carried to this day

    White Wedding Dress
was not orignally part of the wedding tradition
Back in Roman and Greek and even Eygptian times
Women could not afford expensive gowns so
Brides simply wore their best dress on their wedding day
This was made popular in the 1840's by Queen Victoria, who chose this instead of the traditional royal "silver" wedding dress.
contratory to popular belief white is not a symbol of purity
but GOLD or Silver are Symbols of Purity that is why wedding gowns of Royaly used to be made of gold or silver until queen Victoria who wore white now traditational wedding gowns are white.

    Tuxedo
this was not a Original Custom
Orginally in Roman and Greek and Eygptian empire days men
wore what they could afford to the wedding
and most men wore battle armor to a wedding
Early marriages were literally carried out by the Groom and his "Bridesmen" (or "Bridesknights") who would kidnap a woman (the origin of "carrying a Bride over the threshold") from another tribe! The Groom and his fellow conspirators would then fight off the female's family of tribesmen with swords held in their right hand while the Groom would hold the captured Bride in his left hand, which is the origin of why a Bride stands on the left side of the Groom at a wedding.

After a successful capture, another politically correct practice was for the Groom to hide his new Bride for one month for mating purposes. It is said that the word "honeymoon" was created to describe this one month cycle of the moon when they would drink mead, which was a honey sweetened alcoholic brew that effects both sobriety and the acidity of the womb, thus increasing fertility.

Classic example King Author married in armor
Until the 20th century, the Groom simply wore his "Sunday best" on his wedding day. It is said that President Teddy Roosevelt popularized the modern tuxedo.

Hand Fasting a Tradition when Pagans were not allowed to marry
so they married in Secret with Hand Fasting

The very word handfasting got it's origin in the wedding custom of tying the bride and groom's hands (actually, wrists) together.

Handfasting is a traditional Roman ceremony of (temporary or permanent) Wedding
Traditional trial-marriage ceremony, during which couples were literally bound together. The handfasting was a temporary agreement, that expired after a year and a day. However, it could be made permanent after at that time, if both spouses agreed.

Hand Fasting is in many Cultures in Asia
but It stems from Roman Empire and Greek Empire

During the 1995 movie, Braveheart, Mel Gibson, in the role of William Wallace, was handfasted with his girlfriend Murron. Handfasting has since grown in popularity among non-Pagans.
