~My Magick Stopped Working; What Do I Do??

I know, it's crazy. My magick stopped working. Unlike a machine that needed some TLC and some oil to grease it up, it was a great brazier whose light went out. Now, no, magick can never really be "broken." But, my magick stopped working and here's why...

I stopped believing in myself. 

Life gets to a witch; it sucker punches and kicks, screaming and biting to drag you down. It tries to hold onto you as tightly as a straight jacket, but even then you can get out of its desperate hugs. And this year is no exception; 2020 has been a year of turmoil, doubts, and so many emotions. 

So, how exactly did this happen? Is that what you're wondering? I did at first too. 

The magick that I used to feel every day in my life, that spark in my spirit that gave me hope, it went out and I had let it. I began to listen to the voices of doubt in my life, to believe that I was small, so what could I ever give to the world, to the Gods, the Universe that someone else couldn't already give? What made me "special"? And, at the time, all I could come up with is "nothing." What a sad time, indeed. But every one who goes through this, every witch and normie can make it out.

So, my magick stopped working. 

~Did I do something about it???~

And the answer is no, for a long time I sat in the murky waters and just accepted it. Not only to possibly gain the love of family, but because I thought it was what I deserved. I built a cage using the sticks and daggers people gave me and stuck into me, telling myself if I wasn't normal then I was just a monster. Well, it's a good thing that the wolf is a kindred spirit to the witch.

Inspiration can hit one like a glee of "Eureka!" and there are times that it needs you to motivate it, to get out and just do that work out you've been pushing off, to put those stones out in the moonlight, to do something. For me, while sitting in the dark, I didn't see a light; I FELT it. And this may not be the same for you, and that's just as okay, everyone's path is different. But if you resonate with what I say, then I really hope you can take what information you can from it. 

I began to feel a stirring, a call, a beckon. Like a bear waking from its wintery slumber, I will wake, I will find my spark to reignite my flame. And if I can do it, so can YOU. If you are stuck in the same ice cube as I have been, set the flame under you, and come back to life with me. 

How should YOU do that?? 

Great question!

I don't know, honestly. The best way that I set the flame was to find what had meaning to my soul, what it was that I truly wanted to get out if I didn't have the time to live and get it out. The Universe brought me into fruition for a reason, just as it did the same to YOU, never believe the opposite! It's just been finding the way we are supposed to go through the muck of what everyone else tells us what it is we should do and be. IGNORE THEM the very best you can! Unless you trust that person with your whole being, don't listen to the world tell you that you need to work a 9 to 5 job or work 40 hours weeks. Don't listen to the world when they say magick isn't real and that how the world is now must be how it has to be. 

You are your own magick.

Nurture yourself, cuddle the closest thing to a cloud you can get! Drink your favorite tea/coffee, take a nap after work, spend an extra five minutes in the shower just standing under the shower jets. Be gentle with yourself, be caring and loving to yourself, because no one else in the world will do it the way you know you need it. If I can do this for myself, then YOU can too.

11:11 Twin Flames: The 8 Stages and Signs

What are Twin Flames exactly? 

Plato said it best as he described, "according to Greek Mythology, humans were originally created with four arms, four legs, and a head with two faces. Fearing their Zeus split them into two separate parts, condemning them to spend their lives in search of their other halves" (The Symposium, Plato).

Twin Flames are what modern day individuals consider as "Soul Mates" today; soul mates are the souls who are considered to be "cut from the same cloth as your own soul," who are meant to help you grow and challenge you, they travel in the same "pack" as you through the lifetimes, constantly by your side. Soul mates are usually your family, closest friends, they help guide you to become your most genuine self, a step in the great staircase that will help you on the way to enlightenment.

One receives many soul mates throughout their life time, because they are meant to teach important life lessons. Many believe that after you've learned the particular lesson from one soul mate, the relationship with them has run it's course - it isn't to say that you learn the lesson and just toss them aside, you just don't feel the same for them anymore, especially romantically. One can meet a soul mate as they would normally, and you may just have them through many life times.

A Twin Flame is that person who is the other half of your own soul who mirrors your own soul back to you, it is one soul energy in two physical bodies who perfectly compliment each other, you both will embody the aspects of Yin and Yang.

For one - usually considered "the chaser" - they feel as if they are finally home, sometimes this will be felt in both persons' souls, sometimes for the other soul - usually called "the runner" - like their world has been completely turned upside-down, but for both souls the relationship will be the most intense relationship one has ever felt in their entire life, it can be quite overwhelming at times and unique for every relationship. They are your ultimate teacher, friend, partner and lover. As the mirror to each other, you will reflect back to them all of their hidden fears and darkest parts while also echo their strength and beauty.

There are several stages to the Twin Flame path to union:
1) Yearning for "The One", 2) Glimpsing "The One", 3) Falling in Love, 4) The Fairy-Tale Relationship, 5) Outer Turmoil and Inner Purging, 6) The Runner and Chaser, 7) Surrender and Dissolution, 8) Oneness.

Stage One: At this stage, you usually spend your entire life looking for "the one," the person who will perfectly complete you, and though you may never date or you go through soul mates you feel that they will appear in your life at some point. It is at this stage that you begin to prepare for the arrival of your Twin on an unconscious level. For some people they are taught to learn to love themselves, for others they develop an awareness, discovery, and understanding of themselves or the things around them in their lives.

Stage Two: There will be a point in your life in which you will gain an insight of your Twin Flame; this usually occurs through meeting in real life or a vision by dream, but you will have a sense that it is them - at first you might not be sure, but the feeling probably won't leave you. You'll want to get to know this person much better, maybe get to know as much of them as possible or they may be strangely - strange for them - very open to you about certain things, especially difficult things that have happened to them throughout their lives, things they wouldn't normally tell a stranger. Despite this, you feel that they are an exception, that they are special.

Stage Three: Like Icarus after flying too close to the Sun, when you fall for your person, you fall very hard; it may take you by surprise either because you had never felt so deeply for someone before or you always promised yourself that you would never do something so irresponsible with your heart, in your own eyes. As you get to know your Twin Flame, you fall even more in love with them, which will feel quite unlike who you are. You may try to resist the attraction, telling yourself that it isn't logical or that you were supposed to take things slow, but the pull to being home finally will probably be just too strong.

Stage Four: The feelings for each other can no longer be held back, the cauldron has been boiling and the only way to turn down the heat is by accepting it. When you begin your relationship, the both of you are perfect for each other in every way! It will appear that your Twin Flame fulfills your every need and makes you feel as if you are floating on Cloud 9 or one step closer to Heaven/Valhalla/the Duat.

Stage Five: It is at this stage that the Personal Ego begins to awaken and flare up like bad acne. Differences of opinion begin to emerge, personality changes - not everyone will always stay the same but this is definitely different than the person you have come to recently know - and old wounds from the heart of spirit begin to consistently develop. "While our Twin Flames share and mirror our deepest needs, desires, and dreams, they also tend to mirror our Shadow Selves" (Luna). If you tend to hold your emotions back, the dam will break. If you are arrogant and self-righteous, your Twin will be quiet and ambiguous. Where you once perfectly mirrored each other and brought balance, your opposites will now come to light and take over. "In this way our Twin Flames challenge us, riling up our insecurities. This can be infuriating, devastating, and very painful" (Luna). Although this seems like the end of the world, it is necessary for your personal growth, as well as the growth of your Twin Flame union! Without seeing each other for who you both truly are, you will continue to live in a place of illusion - in the honey-moon phase.

Stage Six: This is the game of cat and mouse, a trial by fire, in which one Twin is the "runner" who runs from their emotions, the intensity of the Twin Flame relationship, and even from the painful things that they could potentially do to hurt their Twin. They withdraw back into themselves and their old bad habits, falling back on what they know rather than delving deeper into their awakening. The "chaser" is not meant to chase after the Twin that has run, despite their title. Instead, they are meant to chase after themselves and their own awakening, down the path that the Universe is leading them towards. Sometimes life takes them onto a completely different path than the one they themselves are on right now, since they tend to be more mentally and emotionally mature of the two at the moment, trying to seek to understand and make amends at times even. There are times that this isn't a physical separation in the Twin Flame relationship, sometimes it's just emotionally or the Twins take a break from each other, other times the Twins separate completely and may even result in the permanent termination of the union. As stated before, this is a trial by fire; this will test both of the Twins as well as the relationship. While apart, it is up to the Twins to mature their souls by themselves, which can be as long as months or even years.

Stage Seven: "After so much anguish, distress, and provocation, you both begin to open up about your wounds and insecurities" (Luna). This is when the both of you have set your pride and ego aside, you have become more aware of your faults, where you went wrong, and how you can strengthen your relationship and work together through your difficulties.

Stage Eight: "In stage eight it is common for you to both find a shared meaning, passion, or cause that brings you a mutual sense of fulfillment" (Luna). You both will begin to be sensitive to forgiveness, empathy, and especially patience. This is the stage in which the ego will die as you reach a form of enlightenment by working together and see that it becomes easier to do - especially when it comes to communicating and enjoy miraculous work.

Twin Flame Signs

There are many signs that will help you to distinguish if you have, indeed, found your twin flame. Somethings are not coincidence.

• You feel a strange and peculiar sense of "recognition" when you meet, as if you have finally come home, or you feel a sense of deja vu. 
• You established an immediate and deeply intense connection with each other that shocks either just you or the both of you.
• Again, you feel like you have finally found a home or that you finally came home.
• You embody the aspects of Yin and Yang, your darkness is balanced by their light and their light is balanced by your dark - or vice versa.
• You have the feeling that they are extremely important to you without even knowing why, when, or how.
• They make you a better person, even in the smallest ways; they help you to be happier, optimistic, or more responsible. 
• You both are attuned to each others' energy and can telepathically communicate or just tell if there's something wrong. What this means is you both are connected to each others' spiritual consciousness, and have a high level of empathy towards  what they are feeling. This could be you know what the other is thinking before they say anything, or you know what each other is feeling. This can include knowing when they are talking or thinking about you, or when they push you away.
• You both have connected deeply and echo each others' aspirations and core values for life.
• Your childhoods were opposites or even polar opposites.
• One of you is more aware and spiritually mature than the other and will serve as the teacher, counselor, or confidant in the relationship to help them become more aware - just be careful not to turn into an enabler. 
• You are taught important life lessons, as well as they are; this can include patience, empathy, forgiveness, open-mindedness, and gratitude. 
• Your connection is multi-faceted. Meaning, your Twin is your best friend, teacher, lover, nurturer, and muse all in one.
• Your Twin Flame doesn't try to change, rather they accept who you are and encourage you to grow into the person you want to be or they see that you can be.
• You can tell each other the truth about anything, no matter how painful.
• The both of you - or even just the aware one - feels driven towards a higher purpose.
• You may be able to remember past life memories with this person, and recall vivid details from your previous experiences together.
• Despite sharing the same soul, your Twin and you could share significant differences that balance each other out; this could be in personality, demeanor, likes and dislikes, and even dreams
• When you first came together, you were probably in a relationship already or was healing from a relationship that had just ended, and either one of you or both just didn't feel prepared to come together quite yet.
• Despite the hardships of life, you both continue to evolve together and make each other better.
• Your Twin takes you to new depths of your souls that you never knew existed before meeting them. They may even show you a light to your darkness that you never thought you would deserve, and it will be scary, but also thrilling.
• No matter what annoys you or your Twin about each other, there are certain things - bad habits or personality traits - that you overlook, because of your unconditional love for them.
• Due to your instant connection, your relationship may move pretty fast or be rushed - this isn't necessarily a bad thing, it could just be that you both are ready to make up for lost time, don't fight the flow, but do try to not move too fast.

There is just so much to this wonderful Union, so much information, so much intensity. When I discovered that I was in my own Twin Flame union, I thought I was crazy; I looked to my sister for advice and she thought I was crazy too, since neither one of us had ever had a relationship similar to this at all. Many people told me, when my Twin and I had reached the Separation Stage, that I should let him go and give up on him, but in my heart of hearts it felt wrong. Instead of taking my anger, frustrations, and stress on him and blaming him for everything, I sought to understand, to learn as much as I could about this Twin Flame union, to see where we both potentially went wrong and where we got it right.

I will be making a series of posts committed to the Twin Flame relationship so that others who are in a position such as myself to seek to understand. You didn't do wrong; you loved deeply and completely, but if you are the Chaser, such as myself, you just felt too deeply and your Twin Flame Runner wasn't ready to experience it all as fully as you were. This doesn't mean you were in the wrong or that they were in the wrong, it just means you both weren't ready for the full experience of this beautiful and spiritual union. That is why you are going through the stages of separation, to focus on yourself and to raise your own spiritual vibrations.

The Magick of this Blog - Always Seek More Knowledge

SEEK TO UNDERSTAND

As a witch with my own personal beliefs, I reflect those such beliefs on this blog; no one has to like my understanding of the beliefs taught to me, but no one should get upset, instead, seek to understand. The goal of a witch is to understand, to always seek knowledge.

This blog does not specifically stick to the ways of only white magick, nor does this blog entirely encase itself in black magick either. Instead, it practices the ways of magick of all colors! I personally believe that a witch must have an idea and understanding of each type of magick that is in this natural world so that they can decide more fully which magick is best suited for themselves and not discriminate against any other color of magick. Like a past post that I wrote several years ago, black magick is not entirely bad just as white magick is not entirely good.

Not only does a witch need to seek to understand the different colors of magick, but they need to learn how and when to hex just as much as how and when to heal. Hexing can be a positive thing in certain situations; you can bind a person who is bothering you, push for someone to leave your friends alone, hex the person that physically or sexually assault you, the person that is bullying you can get a piece of their own medicine, etc. Yes, karma does play a huge role in the Universe - do unto others bit, and what goes around comes around - but sometimes karma needs a little push or just some help, maybe she needs to know that this person does need some medicine or they really do need some punishment.

Now, I don't advocate that you go around hexing people you feel deserve punishment or has been slightly unfair, not at all. Hexing must be done with the understanding that it is in a just way, that it is truly deserved, and your Gods or spirit guide(s) must agree too. They will understand that whatever was done to you was possibly because it was a lesson that you needed to learn and so the person probably doesn't deserve retribution, other times what a person did to you - e.g., rape, stole your life savings, advocates for hate, etc. - truly deserves punishment and torment, hell on earth.

A witch holds the power of the Universe, is made with star dust and natural magick,, they have the power to influence the weather and speak to the dead, the power to find true inner peace, and so much more! There is no limit to a witch's power except when they doubt themselves! We can speak and commune with Gods and spirits, we find power in the natural Earth as well as the stars and planets out in the Universe. We can do and be anything we want!

So go out there, sisters and brothers! Accept your powers! Embrace your feminism! Embrace your masculinity! Teach yourself and research as much as you can possibly get your hands on! Then, go help others! Help them to understand, to embrace themselves - even when others won't.

To Heal A Broken Relationship Spell

We all have at least suffered the affects of a broken heart after something has gone awry in a relationship, its affects run deeply. This is a spell for those who feel they want to fix that which seems broken, mend the cut before any more damage can happen. Do not forget, with all spells must come intention in order for the spell to work 100%. A warning for this spell, if there is no form of communication going on between the both of you that is positive, this spell is less likely to work. That does not mean it won't work, but it may be a little more difficult. Let's get to it!

Materials Needed:
-Piece of paper & red pen
-Pink ribbon
-Small jar
-Liquid honey

Write both your names on a small piece of paper (just about the size of a note card works nicely) and fold it so that the names are facing each other. Then gently tie the paper with pink ribbon. You want to keep in mind to channel the feelings of love and longing, it may help to visualize a cut in a piece of clothing material and watching as your love "mends" it with a needle and thread. If you feel the need to draw hearts on the outside, kiss it with lipstick covered lips, etc. do not hesitate, this will help to channel the kind of energy that you want between the both of you.

Now, place the paper in a small jar and fill it with honey. When you are finished, close the jar and hide it away in a dark place; never allow it to be seen by anyone if possible. Forget it and trust that the spell will do what is intended.

To add to some help, you could always burn Rose incense, positively charge and anoint the jar with Rose oil, and pray to Goddesses of love and romance (Hathor, Aphrodite, Venus, Freya, Oshun, Inanna, Ishtar, etc.).

Making Offerings To The Gods

Now, this question has been with me for a while; what do the Gods consider offerings??? What do I do with them afterwards?  Do not panic! All is perfectly well, you are safe. The Gods will not smite you because you have not offered them lavish riches or a tasty treat; they love you far too much.

What Do The Gods Consider Offerings

A number of things! You can give them food, you can burn incense, you can play music for them if you worship a God of music, put fresh water for those who preside over water, a beautiful and lovely scented candle, practically anything. EXCEPT FLESH! DO NOT SACRIFICE! DO NOT OFFER ANYTHING WITH FLESH AND A SOUL AS AN OFFERING! I understand that it was believed - and possibly true - that it happened in the past, but think about the Bible. The standings of their God is old and part of the past, and those that follow their God have done everything in their power to stick to his word by the letter. They have not evolved from tradition and created a new tradition. The great thing about our Gods and the people who worship them is that we can flow with the times, and that means that the Gods will understand that offerings of the flesh - unless you give yourself to them in a spiritual-sexual manner - cannot be done anymore.

Mainly, think about what your God/Goddess represents. Hathor is a Goddess of beauty and music. For her, I sing! I may not be very good and in the spiritual realm she may shun from my horrible voice, but at least she knows that I love her enough to show her that she means so much to me. Anubis? Decorate your altar with skulls - at least that's to what my thinking is. Poseidon? Lay a bowl of water on your altar, some sunglasses, starfish, beach stuff! Always remember that whatever offerings you lay down, make sure that the God/Goddess you are offering to KNOWS about it. Just laying on your altar will have small significance and will only make it look pretty or cluttered.

How To Get Rid of Offerings

Now, if you want to put offerings of food on your altar, that's kind of a different story. You can! You most certainly can! Remember to think about the culture your God/Goddess comes from  and think about them personally as to what they like. Hathor may like sweet things, being a Goddess of love. Poseidon must love fish! Of course there's the whole grapes, cheese, and crackers that you can put down when in doubt! The Gods will surely feel pampered.

Now, getting rid of your food offerings? What ever shall you do?

It all depends on your type of worship. For Hellenic polytheism, food can be eaten afterwards or burnt for the Ouranic deities. For Khthonic deities, it's usually traditional to bury these, do not eat them. Kemeticism allows for the food to be eaten so not to waste anything. It also goes that you are sharing a meal with the Gods as if they were family.

P.S. For those who are poor, do not fret! Like I said, you can keep it simple! Incense, things of symbolism, etc.

It's that time of year when we give thanks to our mother Goddesses and our father Gods for happiness and fertility to our wonderful home. I hope this list is sufficient in who you all are looking for to give thanks. Blessed be!

Fertility Goddesses

Ala (Nigerian) - Mother Goddess responsible for fertility of both animals and man.
Ajysyt (Siberian) - Mother Goddess. Her name means "birth giver".  She visited every mother and provided a soul for the new-borns.
Aka (Turkish) - Ancient, Mother Goddess.
Alemonia (Roman) - Goddess responsible for feeding of the foetus in the womb.  Her name may also be spelt Alemona.
Aphrodite (Greek) – Represented fertility.
Arianrhod (Welsh) - Associated with fertility.
Aveta (Gaulish) - Goddess of fertility, childbirth and midwives, also linked to fresh water.
Bast (Egyptian) - The cat headed Goddess was associated with both fertility and childbirth.
Bendis (Greek) - One of several Greek fertility Goddesses.
Bona Dea (Roman) - Goddess of fertility, healing, virginity, and  women.
Brigit (Irish) - Was the Goddess of home, hearth, feminine aspects, healing, and fertility.
Ceres (Roman) - Goddess of crops and agriculture.
Corn Mother (Native American) - Responsible for the fertility of the land and people.
Cybele (Roman) - Cybele was the goddess of fertility based on Anatolian Goddess Kybele.
Demeter (Greek) - The Goddess of grain and bringer of fertility to the earth.
Freya (Nordic) - Often confused with Frigg, Freyja was the Norse goddess of sexual activity.
Frigg (Nordic) - Frigg was the Odin wife she protected a man's marriage and made him fertile. Her name was invoked to bring children into a conjugal union.
Gaia (Greek) - Ancient Greek mother goddess who gave birth to the land and the Titans.
Gefjon (Teutonic) -She was one of Frigg's handmaidens and associated with fertility of both man and the land.
Haumea (Hawaiian) - Haumea was perpetually reborn, allowing her to continually mate with her offspring.
Juno (Roman) - Often called upon by infertile women.
Macha (Irish) - Fertility goddess who primarily concerned with male virility.
Lakshmi (Hindu) - A mother goddess who represents the feminine aspect of God.
Mastor-Ava (Russian) - Earth Goddess.
Nile Goddess (Egyptian) -One of the prehistoric fertility Goddesses worshipped in the Nile Delta.  She had the head of a bird.
Rainbow Snake (Aborigine) - She represented the fertile rains, and sea she flows through her people's lives bringing children.
Rhea (Greek) - Replaced her mother Gaia as the earth and fertility goddess.  She gave birth to the first Olympians.
Tlalteutli (Aztec) -Goddess of Creation.  The Universe was made of Her body.
Urd (Teutonic) - Norse Earth Goddess.
Venus (Roman)  -Roman equivalent to Aphrodite. She represented one of the main fertility Goddesses.

Pregnancy and Childbirth Goddesses

Artemis (Greece) - Despite being a virgin goddess she also presides over childbirth due to the ease of her own birth
Bast (Egypt) - Bast was the cat headed goddess was associated with both childbirth and fertility.
Carmenta (Roman) - Goddess of prophecy and birth. Pregnant women used to offer her rice for an easy delivery.
Candelifera (Roman) - She was invoked at the beginning of childbirth.  Her name means candle bearer and she used this light to help guide the baby into this world.
Diana (Roman) - Queen of Heaven.  Patroness of childbirth, nursing and healing.
Deverra  (Roman ) - Goddess who protected midwives and women in labour.  Her broom was used to sweep away evil influences.
Eleithyia (Greek) -Was the Goddess of childbirth and labour.  She was shown as a woman wielding a torch, representing the burning pains of childbirth, or with her arms raised in the air summoning a child to the light.
Frigg (Nordic) - Associated with easing child birth. A plant called Freya's grass was traditionally used as a gentle sedative during a difficult labour.
Hathor (Egypt) - The seven Hathors blessed the new-born and set a child's destiny.  She is also associated with nursing infants.
Hekate (Greek) - As a midwife she carried a sacred knife to cut the cord at birth.
Hepat (Egyptian) - Goddess of Midwives.
Hera (Greece) - The Queen of the gods, Hera presided over all things feminine especially  maternity and marriage.
Isis (Egypt) - Isis had many roles including the protector of motherhood.
Ixchel (Mayan) - Role included Goddess of childbirth, lunar cycles, and pregnancy.
Juno (Roman) - She protected pregnant woman as well as at birth, bringing the child into the light.
Lucina (Roman) - Goddess of Childbirth.
Meskhent (Egyptian) - Egyptian Goddess who presided over the delivery of babies.
Mylitta (Babylonian) -Mylitta took special interests in the process of childbirth.
Nephthys (Egyptian) -Stood at the head of the bed encouraging the mother whilst her sister Isis acted as the midwife.
Ngolimento (Toga) - Goddess who cares for the spirit of a child before it is born.
Nixi (Roman) - The Nixi were a triad of Goddesses associated with birth.
Nintur (Sumerian) - Her name meant "Lady Who Gives Form".  She was represented as a woman holding a midwife's pail of water.
Nona (Roman)- Goddess of pregnancy.  Her name means nine relating to the ninth month of pregnancy when the expectant mum would call upon her.
Pi-hsia-yuan-chun (Chinese) - She protects women, children, and presides over birth.
Prorsa Postverta (Roman) -Goddess of women in labour she was associated with the position of the child in the womb.
Pukkeenegak (Eskimo) - Feminine Goddess who gave children to the Eskimo women.
Renenet (Egypt)- Goddess who presided over a baby's suckling.  She bestowed both a name and a personality on a new-born infant.
Shasti (Indian) - Feline Goddess, depicted riding a cat. Goddess of childbirth and protector of children.
Saint Catherine of Sweden (Roman Catholic) - Patron saint of miscarriage prevention.
Saint Gerard Majella (Roman Catholic) - Patron saint of pregnancy and expectant mothers.
Saint Raymund Nonnatus (Roman Catholic) - Patron saint of midwives.
Tamayorihime (Japan) - Ancient sea Goddess who watches over the birth waters to ensure a safe delivery.
Taueret (Egypt) - Protected infants by taking the form of a pregnant hippopotamus to frighten demons away.

Spell To Remember A Past Life

So I just found this spell and I thought that it was something really cool for you guys to try! When I did it, it took several SEVERAL tries until I got a really small image, and even that was difficult. Anyway, you guys try it and think of it for yourself! Plus, it's really simple and kind of fun too.

1 white Candle, 1 mirror, Yourself

Set the candle next to the mirror so the light from it can hit your face, but so that you will not see the candle in the mirror.

Turn off the lights and sit in front of the mirror.

After this is done, look into your eyes and say these words:

"Oracle of lunar light, Send me the second sight"

Stare into your eyes and try not to blink. Your reflection will dissolve and another will appear. Try to look at the face, body, clothing and surroundings. After you do this, you will have emotions that you can not explain. Don't worry, they will go away in a few minutes.

You may have to say these words a few times and stare into your reflection for a while. Remember to concentrate.

Samhain Again

Samhain is on the way again.

Because I have other posts explaining Samhain, I'll be brief and tell you this. This is the time of year when witches and Pagans can just be themselves. The world believes that Halloween is just a holiday, so let them. To us, this is the time of year where we can be ourselves, where we can celebrate life and death. This is a day to connect with our deceased loved ones, a day to be joyous for the time we had spent in this year. This is also a time to be together with your circles and work together to bring peace and balance among yourselves. This is the end of a year and beginning of another.

Last year, I had celebrated Samhain only briefly, and for that I feel as if I missed out. This year will be different. This year I'll finally be able to talk to my loved ones and feel at ease. Isis Is A Goddess, Not A Terrorist Group

Hi everyone, I know it's been a while, but I'd like to bring to your attention this issue, especially those who have heard of this news. It is my understanding that there is a terrorist group that has been nicknamed ISIS here in the United States (possible elsewhere as well) and this goes against mine and I believe many other's belief.

Isis is a Goddess, not a terrorist group. She is the mother of Horus, she represents magick, protector of children, the great wife to Osiris, ruler of the Underworld and former ruler of Egypt. She is the daughter of Thoth and Nut, God of wisdom and Mother of the Night, she has ruled this Earth far longer than humans have terrorized those in the West.

Now that there has been an understanding of who Isis is and her difference to this terrorism group, I have brought before you all a petition to change the name of the terrorist organization from ISIS to ISIL, its proper name. If you are not of the Egyptian worship, I still urge those of you to help change this. Not only are those who follow the Egyptian Gods disrespected, but the rest of Pagans are, for this is an attempt of nonrecognition of us Pagans even if we have the freedom of worship in the states. Please, for my mother Goddess and for your mother Goddess, help us to change the name so that Isis may be worshiped for who she truly is and not used as a title for an organization that does not protect like Isis does, but reigns terror on everyone. Thank you.

Incarnated/Earth Angels

So, here's a question for you guys: have you ever heard of Earth Angels? The only reason I discovered what an Earth Angel happened to be was because I Googled "Angels of Elements" so I could find my elemental Angel and it came up with "Earth Angel". Apparently, Earth Angels are celestial beings (Angels) sent to Earth to live a human life out of curiosity, to understand human emotions, to understand their daily lives, etc. 

One of the sites I happened upon had a good idea about Angels that I would like to point out: They said that Angels were neither being who are just good or just evil, they are both (like Karma, how it can be good karma or bad karma, but it is both). I don't know, I thought that was just something to think about. So, since I am not really good at explaining things, I'm just gonna post one of the articles that I read. 

Incarnated Angels

Incarnated angels are spirits of the angelic realm who incarnate as humans to help people learn something very specific.

Angel Incarnates usually have a very short life span; die in pregnancy, infant hood, or as children. Although some live to adulthood if the lesson they need to teach is to happen during that time in their life. They rarely marry, or marry late in life, although that's not a given either. Some live longer to experience love, marriage and parenting.

Angels who incarnate as human beings may be here just for a short time with a specific mission or purpose. Awakened angels are here is to experience being human, a human body, to feel pain, joy, vulnerability, and helplessness.

Angels are not superior to humans or another life form. They are just that, another life form.  These people still retain a great deal of their angelic power, assuming they can learn how to access it, and often maintain a close relationship with deity and divinity.

Many incarnated angels are also walk ins, meaning they may not have been born as angel, but one walked in to their body when the time was right. Most incarnated angel walk ins are aware of their multiple souls.

Because angelics are so close spiritually to the creator, then tend to be very creative as people.

Communication is often hard for them, so they communicate through music, art or writing.

Many angelics are sensitive to light, sound and touch and may also be classified as crystal children.

Many angel incarnates remember or feel the presence of etheric wings, kind of like a phantom pain that someone who has lost a limb feels. They can see or sense the size, shape, and color of what their wings look or feel like.

As far as halo, well, everyone has one of those. It's the crown chakra just above the top of your head. Angelics tend to have a stronger or overactive crown and third eye chakra and may have weak or underactive base and sacral chakras.

Angelics may also feel confined in their human body, which is one of the lessons they incarnate to learn about. Because of this, their dreams may very often be out of body experiences to ease that restriction.

Angels frequently appear in parallel universes. Our energetic frequency is slightly different; we tend to literally have one foot in two worlds (or more).

Stories of angels appear in just about every religion. And many of those religions will insist that angels will never incarnate, but this isn't true. We have incarnated to teach and learn since the beginning of time, not only on this planet but many other worlds as well.

Some think that angel incarnates are the so-called fallen angels. Again, this isn't true. In the spiritual world there is no concept of good or bad. Evil is only in the mind of humankind, and one of the many lessons to learn to overcome. And one of the lessons angels incarnate to learn to understand.

Duties of angel incarnates can include being a teacher, healer, counselor, watcher, guardian or guide.

Most angelics have a strong connection to one or more of the known archangels.

We are literally spiritual beings striving for an earthly experience.

Earth Angels

     Do you feel different from other people, as if you were dropped off on this planet and wonder when someone’s coming to take you home? If you have a passion and talent for healing, teaching, or helping others, yet you yourself have substance-abuse problems, weight issues, relationships challenges, and the like, then you may be an Earth Angel. If you’re highly sensitive and you abhor (dislike) violence in any form, then you may very well be an Earth Angels. An Earth Angel is a salad with non-Earthly origins.

     Similarly, all of the lives you’ve previously lived have impacted you. And, just as your physical family-of-origin influences you, so does your soul’s family-of-origin shape your looks, behavior, and even your life’s purpose.

     If you’re an Earth Angel, then you’re a powerful lightworker with a legacy of healing and miracles behind and in front of you. You accepted your Divine assignment to come to Earth and spread your teachings and healing energies. How has your assignment been so far? If you’ve had difficulty adjusting to Earthly life, then you’ll probably find answers, Comfort, and guidance by remembering your spiritual origin.

     You may discover that you’re an Incarnated Angel or Elemental, a Starperson, Walk-Ins or a Wise One. You may have past lives on Earth as an Incarnated Angel, Elemental, and such, yet you forgot these. incarnations, believing that your past lives were human.

Characteristics of Earth Angels

Feeling different, separate, or alienated from others. Most of these Earth Angels stated that they feel "different from others". For all of the realms but the Wise Ones, this characteristic continues into adulthood. Many Earth Angels have been teased or verbally abused because of their different appearance, interests, and behavior.

Intense sensitivity to other people, chemicals, or violence in any form. Earth Angels have difficulty being in crowds, feeling bombarded by the overwhelming emotions and physical sensations emanating, from other people. Most Earth Angels have learned to avoid harsh chemicals in their food, cleaning supplies, and toiletries due to distaste and allergies reactions. Violence in any for repels Earth Angels, including arguments, negative media reports, and violent movies. People often tease them for this trait, saying, "You’re just too sensitive!" Yet, this sensitivity is a sacred gift that Earth Angels bring to this planet, enabling them to intuitively know where their services are needed. They couldn’t turn off their sensitivity if they tried

A strong sense of purpose. Even if the Earth Angel doesn’t specifically know what his or her purpose is, there’s a sense that the mission involves teaching and healing others.

A history of frustrating relationship patterns. Earth Angels are often raised by emotionally unavailable or abusive parents. As adults, they may attract abusive friends and lovers. Many Earth Angels have love relationships with partners who are unfaithful, physically or verbally abusive, or noncommittal. Some Earth Angels are "sent" to dysfunctional families as children to ace as healing catalysts. These young Earth Angels feel like adoptees, since they don’t relate to their parents or siblings at all. And truly, these are their physical families and not their spiritual families. Other Earth Angels sign up for challenging family situations so that they can progress extra fast during one lifetime. Only a strong commitment to understanding and healing this pattern seems to break the spell cast over their subsequent relationship.

Strangers telling them their problems, as well as really personal information. Earth Angels have lifelong histories of being approached by total strangers who ask for help or divulge intimate details of their lives. People often tell Earth Angels. "There’s just something about you that I can trust." This tendency is especially true among Incarnated Angels as members of the other realms have learned how they can use their body language to discourage this practice.

Looking younger than their chronological years. Perhaps it’s because they eat more healthfully, exercise, and take care of themselves better overall, or maybe it’s their spiritual outlook, but Earth Angels often appear younger than their chronological age. Nearly every Earth Angel surveyed reported that people are shocked when they discover their true age.

Possibly having a history of personal and familial addictions. Whether it’s food, drugs, alcohol, cigarettes, relationships, or all of the above, some Earth Angels turn to outside substances or influences to numb the pain of feeling different and of being intimidated by their life’s mission.

A ringing sound in one ear. Most Earth Angels (though not all) notice a high pitched ringing sound in one ear. The sound may accompany stressful situations, or come out of the blue. Many Earth Angels consider this an annoying distraction, but the ringing is actually encoded information downloaded from the Earth Angels realm to help them rise above Earthly problems, It also include instructions and guidance for the Earth Angels mission. Fortunately, Earth Angels can mentally ask heaven to reduce the volume or pitch of the sound so that it no longer hurts their ears.

Perun

Perun is the highest, most dominant god in Slavic mythology. Occupying a space akin to Zeus in Greek mythology, Perun is the god of the storms, thunder and lightning with many other attributes as well. Perun is considered a fearsome figure in terms of power, but like Zeus is also fatherly and is the head of the pantheon of gods in the mythology of the Slavs.

Although Perun is the equivalent of Odin in Norse mythology, his appearance is more akin to Thor instead. Boasting a long, copper beard, Perun is a very muscular, rugged man who rides a chariot pulled by a goat buck and carries either a large axe or hammer depending upon the mythological stories that are told. Like the hammer of Thor, Perun’s axe is used to smite the evil and returns to his hand after being thrown.
Essentially, Perun is not only the god of thunder and lighting, he is also the patron of soldiers and noble warriors, the ruling god and keeper of the law and the standard of male power and dominance as well. Perun occupies a familiar place in mythology as a powerful, temperamental god whose actions were based in part on his temper.

As with much of mythology in all cultures, the stories of Perun were meant at least in part to help explain the world in which the Slavs lived. Earthquakes, violent storms and other unpredictable acts of nature were often attributed to Perun and his fiery temper. As leader of the gods, Perun was the most visible example of how their power influenced the world in which the Slavs lived.

The Family of Perun
Perun is the son of Svarog and Lada whose birth was heralded with a might earthquake. Perun is also the most famous of the Svarozhich brothers who rule the heavens. But Perun is also the most powerful and most temperamental of them all which may be why he was chosen to be the leader of the gods in Slavic mythology.

Even as a baby, Perun demonstrated both his power and his temper in stories where he overcame great challenges being taken to the underworld where he slept as his family searched for many years. Perun became a man during his slumber and when finally arisen tremors accompanied his steps. Perun fought the beasts of the underworld and overcame many challenges which led him back to his heavenly home.
There, Perun met the daughter of the sky god, Dyje and moon goddess Divii and married her after overcoming numerous challenges as well. Perun began his reign as the head of the pantheon of the gods, overcoming even more challenges while maintaining his rule.

The Origins of Perun in Slavic Mythology
The myths of the Slavs go back thousands of years, but unlike the Greeks their stories were not written down until roughly the 6th century AD. As these myths and stories were gathered, Perun was the most prominent of the Slavic gods. A Byzantine historian Procopius was the first to record the triumphs of Perun as his exploits were mostly known by Slavs who lived in the eastern sections of Europe. Interestingly enough, Slavs who lived in the western areas of Europe did not mention Perun directly by name, but there are plenty of references that indicate Perun was well known in their mythology as well.

By 980, Prince Vladimir the Great erected five statues of pagan gods as his palace in Kiev with Perun being the most prominent among them. From there, the mythology of Perun became more well known as stories developed over the centuries when Slavs began coalescing their power in Russia and Eastern Europe. From there, the stories of Perun as well as statues began appearing across Eastern Europe and Russia which lasted unabated for a short time until the arrival of the Christian faith.

The Worship of Perun
For Slavs, Perun was certainly a powerful god that invoked many statues honoring his name. In fact, idols made of oak trees or stone were quite common in pre-Christian Slavic culture in the image of Perun. The oak seems to have been the most prominent form in which images of Perun was carved. In fact, many Slav villages would carve an image of Perun into the most prominent oak tree that was nearby where festivals were often held.

Many shrines still exist today located in the foothills, tops of mountains or in sacred groves of ancient oak trees. Wherever there was a general place to worship, images of Perun could be found. Quite often, sacrifices of animals were held as well in offerings to Perun. In fact, in addition to the oak tree, the day of Thursday and the metal tin were also associated with Perun as well.

The Rise of Christianity
Like all myths generated by the Greeks, Slavs, Romans and those living in Europe, the arrival of Christianity dampened the worship of these pagan gods over time. As part of the process, the Eastern Orthodox Church actually incorporated elements of Perun into a new Christian saint, Elijah the Thunderer who was a combination of Perun and Elijah, the prophet in the Old Testament. Elijah the Thunderer is described as riding a flaming chariot through heaven which is a close approximation of the old Slavic myth.

For Slavs in the western part of Europe, St. Michael the Archangel acted as a suitable replacement for Perun as a commander of heavenly armies that conquered and vanquished the Devil. By incorporating some of the Slavic mythology particularly that of Perun, both of the large Christian churches managed to bring in the Slavs to their faith.

It can even be argued that the Christian God himself bears somewhat of a resemblance to Perun in terms of the characteristics that are bestowed upon him although such connections are somewhat tenuous and may be more coincidental in nature.

Today, the rich, Slavic mythology that describes Perun and the Slav gods consists of rich, fertile stories of great struggle and ultimate triumph similar in fashion to the Norse and Greek gods as well.

Yes, it is that time for another holiday. I am so excited to share information about this Pagan holiday with you - even though it's not as great as Samhain! Beltane: Its History and Modern Celebration in Wicca in America

The celebration of May 1st, or Beltane as it is known in Wicca Circles, is one of the most important festivals of our religious year. I will attempt here to answer some of the most often asked questions about this holiday. An extensive bibliography follows the article so that the interested reader can do further research.

1. Where does the festival of Beltane originate?
   Beltane, as practiced by modern day Witches and Pagans, has its origins among the Celtic peoples of Western Europe and the British Isles, particularly Ireland, Scotland and Wales.
2. What does the word Beltane mean?
   Dr. Proinsias MacCana defines the word as follows: "... the Irish name for May Day is Beltane, of which the second element, 'tene', is the word for fire, and the first, 'bel', probably means 'shining or brilliant'."¹ The festival was known by other names in other Celtic countries. Beltaine in Ireland, Bealtunn in Scotland, Shenn do Boaldyn on the Isle of Mann and Galan Mae in Wales.²
3. What was the significance of this holiday to the ancients?
   To the ancient Celts, it symbolized the coming of spring. It was the time of year when the crops began to sprout, the animals bore their young and the people could begin to get out of the houses where they had been cooped up during the long dark cold winter months. Keep in mind that the people in those days had no electric lights or heat and that the Celtic countries are at a much more northerly latitude than many of us are used to. At that latitude, spring comes much later and winter lasts much longer than in most of the US. The coming of fair weather and longer daylight hours would be most welcome after a long cold and dark winter.
4. How did the ancient Celts celebrate this festival?
   The most ancient way of observing this day is with fire. Beltane, along with Samhain (Nov. 1), Imbolc (Feb. 1), and Lughnassadh (Aug. 1), was one of the four great "fire festivals" which marked the turning points of the Celtic year. The most ancient records tell us that the people would extinguish all the hearth fires in the country and then relight them from the "need fires" lit by the druids (who used friction as a means of ignition). In many areas, the cattle were driven between two great bonfires to protect them from disease during the coming year. It is my personal belief, although I have no documentation to back up the assumption, that certain herbs would have been burnt in the fires, thus producing smoke which would help destroy parasites which might make cattle and other livestock ill.
5. In what other ways was this festival celebrated?
   One of the most beautiful customs associated with this festival was "bringing in the May." The young people of the villages and towns would go out into the fields and forests at Midnight on April 30th and gather flowers with which to bedeck themselves, their families and their homes. They would process back into the villages, stopping at each home to leave flowers and to receive the best of food and drink that the home had to offer. This custom is somewhat similar to "trick or treat" at Samhain and was very significant to the ancients. John Williamson, in his study "The Oak King, the Holly King and the Unicorn" writes: "These revelers were messengers of the renewal of vegetation, and they assumed the right to punish the niggardly, because avarice (as opposed to generosity) was dangerous to the community's hope for the abundance of nature. At an important time like the coming of summer, food, the substance of life, must be ritually circulated generously within the community in order that the cosmic circuit of life's substance may be kept in motion (trees, flocks, harvests, etc.)."³ These revelers would bless the fields and flocks of those who were generous and wish ill harvests on those who withheld their bounty.
6. What about maypoles?
   The maypole was an adjunct to the festival of bringing in the May. It is a phallic symbol, and as such represented fertility to the participants in the festival. In olden days, the revelers who went into the woods would cut a tree and bring it into town, decking it with flowers and greenery and dance around it clockwise (also called deosil, meaning "sun-wise", the direction of the sun's apparent travel across the face of the Earth) to bring fertility and good luck. The ribbons which we associate with the maypole today were a later addition.
7. Why was fertility important?
   The people who originated this custom lived in close connection with the land. If the flocks and fields were fertile, they were ableto eat; if there was famine or drought, they went hungry. It is hard for us today to relate to this concept, but to the ancients, it was literally a life and death matter. The Celts were a very close tribal people, and fertility of their women literally meant continuity of the tribe.
8. How is the maypole connected with fertility?
   Many scholars see the maypole as a phallic symbol. In this aspect, it is a very powerful symbol of the fertility of nature and spring.
9. How did these ancient customs come down to us?
   When Christianity came to the British Isles, many of the ancient holy sites were taken over by the new religion and converted to Christian sites. Many of the old Gods and Goddesses became Christian saints, and many of the customs were appropriated. Charles Squire says," An ingenious theory was invented after the introduction of Christianity, with the purpose of allowing such ancient rites to continue with a changed meaning. The passing of persons and cattle through flame or smoke was explained as a practice which interposed a magic protection between them and the powers of evil."⁴ This is precisely what the original festival was intended to do; only the definition of "evil" had changed. These old customs continued to be practiced in many areas for centuries. "In Scotland in 1282, John, the priest in Iverkething, led the young girls of his parish in a phallic dance of decidedly obscene character during Easter week. For this, penance was laid upon him, but his punishment was not severe, and he was allowed to retain his benefice."⁵
10. Were sacrifices practiced during this festival?
    Scholars are divided in their opinions of this. There is no surviving account of sacrifices in the legends and mythology which have come down to us. As these were originally set down on paper by Christian monks, one would think that if such a thing had been regularly practiced, the good brothers would most certainly have recorded it, if for no other reason than to make the pagans look more depraved. There are, however, some surviving folk customs which point to a person representing the gloom and ill fortune of winter being ostracized and forced to jump through the fires. Some scholars see this as a survival of ancient human sacrificial practices. The notion that animals were sacrificed during this time doesn't make sense from a practical standpoint. The animals which had been retained a breeding stock through the winter would either be lean and hungry from winter feed, or would be mothers nursing young, which could not be spared.
11. How do modern day pagans observe this day?
    Modern day pagan observances of Beltane include the maypole dances, bringing in the May, and jumping the cauldron for fertility. Many couples wishing to conceive children will jump the cauldron together at this time. Fertility of imagination and other varieties of fertility are invoked along with sexual fertility. In Wiccan and other Pagan circles, this is a joyous day, full of laughter and good times.
12. What about Walpurgisnacht? Is this the same thing as Beltane?
    Walpurgisnacht comes from an Eastern European background, and has little in common with the Celtic practices. I have not studied the folklore from that region and do not consider myself qualified to write about it. As the vast majority of Wiccan traditions today stem from Celtic roots, I have confined myself to research in those areas.

Beltane, also spelled Beltine, Irish Beltaine or Belltaine, also known as Cétamain,  festival held on the first day of May in Ireland and Scotland, celebrating the beginning of summer and open pasturing. Beltane is first mentioned in a glossary attributed to Cormac, bishop of Cashel and king of Munster, who was killed in 908. Cormac describes how cattle were driven between two bonfires on Beltane as a magical means of protecting them from disease before they were led into summer pastures—a custom still observed in Ireland in the 19th century. Other festivities included Maypole dances and cutting of green boughs and flowers.

In early Irish lore a number of significant events took place on Beltane, which long remained the focus of folk traditions and tales in Ireland, Scotland, and the Isle of Man. As did other pre-Christian Celtic peoples, the Irish divided the year into two main seasons. Winter and the beginning of the year fell on November 1 (Irish: Samain) and midyear and summer on May 1 (Irish: Beltaine). These two junctures were thought to be critical periods when the bounds between the human and supernatural worlds were temporarily erased; on May Eve witches and fairies roamed freely, and measures had to be taken against their enchantments.

Cormac derives the word Beltaine from the name of a god Bel, or Bil, and the Old Irish word tene, “fire.” Despite linguistic difficulties, a number of 20th-century scholars have maintained modified versions of this etymology, linking the first element of the word with the Gaulish god Belenos (Irish: Belenus).
